Through this intelligently planned
combination Jellyroll will teach children many vital life skills whilst
having a brilliant time. Undoubtedly we feel that children should
have fun, and in the age of technology physical activity is even more
important to keep their bodies healthy too. But ultimately our main
focus is the development of self- esteem, confidence and individual
potential. Music,
elocution, comedy, public speaking, poetry and drama are no longer
part of the mainstream curriculum. Cultural knowledge, and exposure
to a wide range of styles, music, rhythms, and mediums is sadly not
covered enough in most of our schools. Jellyroll is not only about
learning drama techniques, harmony, rhythm, choreography and dance;
the cultural themes are carefully chosen to bring a rich and enlightening
experience to the children. We want to see the children discover parts
of themselves that are not drawn upon in school. They have the freedom
to express and experiment with these lost skills and the positive
attitude and outlook is enriched week after week. |
